The Process

1.

Initial Consultation and Planning

This is the first meeting with the client, where designers discuss the overall vision, goals, and requirements for the project. Topics include budget, style preferences, lifestyle needs, and desired functionality. Site visits may be done to assess the space, and a rough timeline is established.

2.

Conceptual Design

In this stage, designers create initial design concepts based on the client’s input. Design deliverables after this phase include floor plans and 2D exterior elevations that outline the layout, flow, and design style. These concepts help visualize how the space will function and feel. Client feedback is crucial to refine the design in this phase. The client will receive three revisions during this phase, allowing them to provide feedback and refine the design until it aligns with their vision. Once the client is satisfied with the overall concept, the design moves forward to the next stage.

3.

Final Design Documents

Once the Conceptual Design is approved, the designer works on detailed floor plans, elevations, roof plan, electrical plans, and 3D rendering. These are more refined representations of the home’s structure, including in-depth dimensions, notations, door and window schedules, and electrical fixture placement.

Each of these stages is integral to achieving a well-designed, functional, and aesthetically pleasing home. The process may vary based on the project scope and the level of customization, but these steps are generally followed to ensure success.
